In 2022 Hewett began painting his new series entitled: LIFE

The LIFE series was launched to much acclaim at the Ginz Exhibition in September, 2022. In this series Hewett focuses on themes of optimism and the resiliency of LIFE on earth not as separate species, but as a larger ecosystem that is robust and full of energy and vitality. The ‘LIFE’ series explores these themes in bright colors and bold shapes reminiscent of things we know and hinting at a future full of possibility.

The LIFE series is marked by the use of shapes and bright colors reminiscent of cellular structures and planetary structures at the same time. Many of the LIFE series works were painted in very large format, and when viewed in-person, overwhelm the senses with positive energy and joy.
