American Embassy in Tokyo
September 22, 2021
I am thrilled to share with you that my painting entitled: 'Barrage' has been inducted into the art collection of the American Embassy in Tokyo.
I spent 4 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve at Camp Edwards in the United States. I was the honor graduate from my class at the Parris Island base and hold many fond memories of my time with the Marines. I have now been working as an artist in Japan for nearly 30 years. Japan is my home and I am very excited to have this opportunity to have my art act as a cultural bridge between the two countries I love.
The painting Barrage is from my Bushido Series of paintings. I tried to express themes of power, loyalty and passion into my brush strokes to pay homage to the warrior ethos and the commitment warriors make to protect and serve.
I am truly honored that the embassy has kindly hung the painting in the center of the main entrance hall of the embassy.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the wonderful people at the US Embassy, Tokyo and the United States State Department for their kindness during this past year and for their commitment and hard work to completing this induction into the Embassy’s art collection.
